DIAK MAN MAAWATAN
This song is an original composition-- I penned the lyrics and I collaborated with Dick Francisco for the melody. It was performed by our band Muzart (now disbanded) on April 2004 in Badoc, Ilocos Norte for the Rimat Magazine's event.
It is now being lined-up for the 4-track EP album by Samtoy (composed by old Muzart members plus Mighty Rasing who helps in guitar and vocal chores) and, if God and financial resources forbid, will be out late this year.
It is a pop-rock song, I supposed. A contribution to the not yet discovered or acknowledged Ilocano music genre-- rock and roll. It is a fusion of rock and popular tune just to encourage the old Ilocano generation to lend an ear to the new Ilocano youthful, vibrant and energetic sound/music.
I am super excited with the project to the extent that I recorded this super-rough acoustic version, shot with my Nokia 97 mobile phone, just to scratch this itchy excitement. Please bear with my rock-and-rolling kids-- Anib Miguel and Saniata-- and please, please forgive my super-below average voice:
