Poetry book by young Filipino poets launched

A new collection of poetry edited by Cirilo Bautista and Ken Ishikawa entitled “Crowns and Oranges: Works by Young Philippine Poets,” was launched recently as a tribute to youth and their intense and enjoyable contemplation of the future.
The collection features works that respond to social and personal realities such as love and its different aspects on the one hand, and terror and war on the other hand. The poets also flesh out their childhood mythology and the cosmology of their growth to maturity.
There is talk about death, the sanctity of memory and simple things, and the erection of monuments to moments when life pulses so strongly.
